Details:
Incumbents are responsible for supervising all financial reporting responsibilities and the daily processing of accounts payable payroll, and capital project/asset transactions.

Essential Job Functions:
Supervises the payroll function to ensure employee compensation is processed and reported timely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
Supervises the accounts payable function to ensure the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and regulatory responsibilities.
Supervises the capital project accounting function to ensure the timely and accurate processing of project and capital asset transactions.
Maintains the general ledger, including the chart of accounts, and supervises fiscal period closings.
Supervises the preparation of monthly financial reporting and the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
Researches and implements new accounting standards.
Performs ad hoc analysis and projects under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related course study required.
Five (5) years of professional accounting work experience in a managerial role or related work field.
Certified Public Accountant, North Carolina Certified Local Government Finance Officer, or GFOA Certified Public Finance Officer certification is prefered.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license.

Comments:
Salary range: $62,931.00 - $85,869.00 Annually
